Another day in Council Grove

I thought I'd get Deb and Mark to get out of the house for awhile, so we went into town. We stopped by the park and I got to check out the old jail and this cool caboose.

Then we went to the playground and I got to do some climbing and sliding. The slide was a BLAST!

The Tee-Pee was pretty neat too.

We headed on in to town and got to meet some new folks. There were lots of people going by and even saw some kids on bikes.

I thought I'd stop and get a trim before heading home, but sadly, the Barbershop was closed.

My first trip to Council Grove

Or "in town" as the humans refer to it.

A lot of firsts today. First time out in public, first time with my cape and leader on, first time walking in town, first time walking by a river, first time walking across a bridge...I tell ya, I'm bushed!

We walked up main street and came across this huge wheel and sign (in front of the Hays House).

Then I had to stop and check out the "porta potty". TBG said I was NOT to use it that way!

We went for a walk down by the river. The trees were beautiful.

We stopped on the bridge. It was pretty scary at first, but TBG told me it was OK and nothing to be afraid of. He was right!

We stopped by a big statue on the way back. I thought it was neat, so I jumped up there and checked it out.

Here, Deb and I are walking back to the car.

I wanted my picture by the wagon, but since I'm so small, I needed to be lifted up to get in the picture.

What a fun afternoon, but I think I hear those stairs a call'n!

Deb and I are STUNNED

So we've been thinking that Carver is a pretty smart puppy. Not really afraid of things, easy to teach, takes a soft touch, etc...

After our walk, dinner and a few times outside, we just decided to relax in the front room and let him play with his toys. Next thing you know, he decides that he'd like to check out the upstairs! Keep in mind, it was a LONG time before Ansel dared to go upstairs and only managed it with the help of MMPB treats. We were so stunned, the camera was the last thing we thought of.

Carver thought it was fun, so he just kept going up and down long enough for me to chase down the camera and get a few pics of (in our minds) a milestone. I actually had to block off the stairs or he'd still be at it!

The good thing is that going up and down 12 steps will really tire a puppy out.

What a fun walk!

We went out for our evening walk to the mailbox and I got to meet the neighbors. They had come down to feed my cow friends and I was lucky enough to be there at the right time. Ansel had told me of his exploits driving TBG's tractor, but I got to tell you, THIS tractor was ginormous! After I smoothed the way by snuggling up to my new friends, I had TBG give me a lift up into the cab. Eat your heart out Ansel!

Here are a few pics of me, my new friends and the tractor.

When we got back and had dinner, I got to try out my work'n duds. Pretty cool looking huh!

So...I'm a Whiner

I'm not a fan of being separated from my peeps. It's not that I mind the crate or X pen, but I just prefer to be WITH people and not cordoned off like a wild animal. Anyway, it seems that TBG has given me a new nickname. Whenever I try to get his attention (whining) he calls me Chimpy McWhiner! Such a funny guy...don't quit your day job bubba. Deb was happy to head out this morning to the PFZ (puppy free zone) which according to her, is anywhere but where I'm at. I think she's tired and not into listening to my music (aka: whining)!

I got to meet my new Vet today. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. The only thing I didn't like about the visit was when she brought out that GIANT needle. I tried to tell her I'm just a little puppy to no avail. I did voice my displeasure when she stuck me with that thing! I still got a nice treat out of it, so I won't hold it against the Vet.

On the way out we stopped by the scale and I weighed in at a whop'n 20.7 lbs.

Here's a pic of me as I was sitting at the computer.

Hellooooo to my adoring fans

Carver's in the house and ready to roll!

Since it's Saturday, TBG said I could have the computer for awhile since he's not working. I thought I'd bring everyone up to date on the happenings at my new abode.

It was really windy the last few days, very different from my last home in Ohio. There are all kinds of leaves to chase and they are always running away! I get to sleep, then play, then sleep then eat and it just goes on and on. Deb says I'm still too small to go into town, hopefully that will change soon. Ansel told me all kinds of fun stories about going into town!

I'm doing my best to learn the things they are trying to teach me. My problem is that I have such a short attention span. I mean, come on...I'm not even 10 weeks old. TBG says I'm pretty smart and have a "soft" touch, whatever that means. I think I get to go for a walk today, I hope I don't get tangled up in the leash. That TBG is pretty awkward you know!

Here are a few pics of me, enjoy.

Here's a video I had TBG take last night.

Mr. Carver is exhausted!

I think all the work and play has caught up with Mr. Energizer. He already has some grasp of "sit", his name, "release" and is going up stairs (no down yet).

He's catching some shuteye right now.

Puppy Boot Camp has Started

This place starts out with a clean puppy! No privacy around here.

I get to nap in my own cell.

and I get to play too!

We spend a lot of time outside, working commands and running. It's so much fun to run with the wind!
Got to go, time for another nap.

I Made it to Kansas!

And the big surprise was that my buddy, Digger got to travel with me!! Here's a pic of me & Deb.

Here's one of Digger & Sally

We had a long day of waiting, flying, waiting, flying and then...finally, we got to meet all the great people in the KC Chapter of CCI. We were greated by Aunt Charon, Aunt Sandy, Aunt Marty, Aunt Debbie, Aunt Linda, Aunt Sally and Uncle Larry. Oh yeah, Mark (TBG) and Deb (SWMBO) were there too! There were really surprised when Digger popped out of the crate. He was a surprise to all except his new people; Aunt Sally and Uncle Larry. Here are some pics at the airport.

On the way home, I spent half the trip in TBG's lap (snoozing) and the second half in my own comfy bed.

Once we got to my new home, I got to play outside in my ginormous yard. I think I like these yellow balls.

Me and TBG.

Yeah, I'm cute!

It's getting late and I am wiped out. So long for now, until I get some much needed shuteye. Carver

The delay goes on...

Sadly, Carver is still not up to flying. Poor guy is stuck in the kennels, losing out on all this beautiful Kansas fall weather.

We can hope for Monday.

Temporary delay

Seems that Carver was not quite ready to leave after all. He had some digestive problems that were bordering on the "explosive" side and the staff at North Central decided to keep him a little longer just to make sure he feels OK to travel.

We were able to procure a couple of pictures to tide us over.

Hello Kansas!

Heeelllllooooo!!!!!!!

My name is Carver II, but you can call me...Carver. I'm a CCI puppy and I currently reside in Delaware, Ohio, with my brother Callahan and my best bud, Ansel III.

I love my brother and all, but let me tell you about Ansel! I've been regaled with stories night after night here during our puppy parties about Ansel's growing up in the Sellers' household. You know how these old guys like to go on and on right? Well, at first I was B-O-R-E-D (yawn), but then the stories got kinda interesting...stuff like driving tractors and swimming in the lake and meeting Munchkins (whatever those are) and sliding down slides and taunting cows and the wonderful ambrosia of Marty's Magical Peanut Butter Treats and someone called The Big Guy (TBG)...and then I was like, wow, that all sounds kinda cool.

Ansel confided in me (we are best buds after all) that he was a little concerned about TBG since Ansel's been gone a while and he heard through the grapevine (namely Dembre) that there was no imminent plan for another pup at the Sellers' household. Something dumb like TBG and She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed (SWMBO, and TBG's better half) wanted to "reflect" on their experience and "determine" what they could have done better as volunteer puppy raisers! Time's a-wastin' you know! There are lots of pups like me who need a good place to grow up and it's amazing the things humans want to concern themselves with instead of JUST GETTING ON WITH IT!

So Ansel and I got together and we worked it out. It's amazing what we pups can do when we really put our tails together! OK, OK, so if you haven't figured it out by now, you need to come to puppy class with me!

I AM GOING TO BE RAISED BY THE SELLERS FOR THE NEXT 16 MONTHS! AND, I ARRIVE MONDAY!

Look for pictures soon!
