Hello Holidays!

What a grand week this was. Sigh. Got to spend time with two of my favorite Aunties and pals. On Friday, we went over the Flint Hills and through the drought to SWMBO's house, we did! Unbeknownst to me, SWMBO decided to decorate and C-O-O-K and B-A-K-E to celebrate my return (actually, she said it was for Thanksgiving, but whatever). SWMBO was lucky that her niece sent her a Thanksgiving box of handmade decorations with which to beautify her home.
She was quite nervous about the turkey, TBG told me, but Aunt Linda (who was in charge of the carving) said she didn't need a knife--just dental floss!

It looked like there was some good eatin' going on, but not for us pups! Notice me and Divot  making a plea to be next in line; to no avail!

Then we had to get into the holiday spirit, since Santa Claus was arriving later that evening!

After my Aunties left for KC, TBG, SWMBO and I went into CG for Christmas caroling, the lighting of the tree, and Santa's arrival. I was stoked when I got my own songbook so I could join in!

The lighting of the tree left a little to be desired...although the singing was good...I'm just sayin'!

No pictures of Mr. Claus. He arrived by a two-horse open sleigh, and SWMBO and TBG didn't want to take a chance that the horses might not appreciate my presence. As if! Whatever.

So, all of that was truly fun and all, but it wasn't until Sunday that I really "got" what Thanksgiving is all about. SWMBO and I spent the morning at the CG Healthcare Center. I showed off my newly acquired musical skills. I even got a round of applause from the staff and residents!

It seemed that there were some folks that really needed me there. More than one staff member, after watching me in action, whispered to SWMBO that I must have some "Jeb" in me. I don't know why they all thought they had to whisper...I wanted to shout that compliment from the rooftops!

Joy to the world...

So Long Snoopy!

My work week is finished, too bad since I just got a promotion! Time for me to relax, enjoy some Thanksgiving kibble with my KC buds and head back to the desolation of TBG's world.

I said goodbye to Snoopy as I left my job at Met Life, maybe we'll meet again.

My Surprise!

So....my big surprise is....that I got to have a sleepover at Leitner's! I get to stay until Friday! You see, Aunt Linda and Aunt Debbie are kinda lonely without a yellow-caped pup around, so I am "on loan" for a few days. It's a bit like being an historic treasure going to some other museum from the Smithsonian!

However, AL and AD did not tell the folks at MetLife that I was coming. You might remember that these are all my good buds from the time I spent there in May. They were so surprised and happy! It felt like Old Home Week!

So, here are some photos of me with a big ol' sign and a big ol' tree. Tonight I visited some people with Leitner that he enjoys seeing a couple of times a month. It was a lot better than WORK! Although, you can call me....

I said it was a big sign, didn't I?
I will guard the tree; yes, sir, Mr. Snoopy!
Photogenic, aren't I?

Mish-Mash

So many people to see, so many things to do, so little time! (Do you know I go back to the North Central office in 89 days? Or so SWMBO tells me.)

Anyway, in order to get my ducks in a row for that awesome day, SWMBO and TBG are trying to make sure that I am exposed to new situations and new people as much as possible. Although I've been at K-State before, I have never used a Mac for my blog posts. A big shout-out to my good friend Paula for tutoring me while I was there!

Just not sure...about this....mouse thing, Paula!

Then I had a chance to go to Kansas City and see some more good friends from K-State, Chuck and Betsy. Sorry there are no pics of that; SWMBO was preoccupied, I guess. But, we did meet this angelic girl at the Greek restaurant when we went there for lunch. I thought she was adorable and I think she thought I was pretty cute too!

Do we really have to leave now?
After that we stopped by to see Aunties Linder and Debbie, and my good friends Divot and Leitner. There are no clear pictures of our play-date as it all took place at 100 mph! Here's me and Leitner taking a forced siesta while the humans confabbed.

What's a siesta, exactly?

Now, there's a lot more going on, but I can't tell you until Monday--it's a surprise!!

Jeb II Update

Looks like Jeb II has made it to his new home in Denver!

Jeb II in Denver, Co

It's great that we'll be able to follow the little guy and read about his adventures. Looks like he's already settled in to one of Jeb's favorite things...getting dressed up!

and he also tries to hog the couch like the old guy did.

Welcome aboard little man...dog, you have a bright future ahead of you and an already built-in fan base!!

A Fun Outing

Had a fun outing today. We went to the local arts and crafts show at the Armory in Council Grove. My good buddy Allen was there!

We met a LOT of people today and helped spread the word of us Service Dogs! TBG saw some delicious smelling snacks at the Farmgirl Fresh booth and had to take some home. Sadly, I was not allowed to partake, but it sure smelled good.

We went and had lunch at The Station. This place is made to look like an old train station. TBG and SWMBO had a great lunch and I actually had room to do a comfortable "under".

On the way back to the car, TBG thought he'd try to cross me up by walking through the giant pile of leaves. Not to worry, I handled this quite well!

Not sure when they snagged this pic of me napping, but it does look like I crashed after our outing!!

Great day at the polls!

I got to do something today that a lot of us pups never get to do...VOTE for the next POTUS!!

TBG and I went to town and strolled into the polling place. All eyes were on me as we walked to the appropriate table to sign in. See, TBG had already briefed me on voting protocol, so I was ready. I had all my gear including MY photo I.D. (thanks Aunties Linder and Debbie!).

They asked me my name and where I lived, so I politely sat and answered their questions. They were just so nice!

Then, they had me sign in and show them my photo I.D. Of course I was ready and happy to comply. An opportunity like this only comes around every four years and I wanted to make the most of it!

I want to thank all of the people at the polling place today. Also would like to thank those that patiently waited in line so I could get some photo ops in!!

Most of all, I'd like to thank those that serve in our Military for protecting our most precious freedom in this great Country.

Carver out...now just waiting for the returns.

I'm Cultured!

No, I am not a yogurt! Since I had such a good time at the Art Gallery the other day, I decided to take in some more culture in my hometown. I told SWMBO to pack us up and drive us in to the Gathering in the Grove this afternoon. It was a beautiful day, so we parked the blue bomb on the far side of town and walked over to the event venue. We stopped for a few pictures outside.

I think I look like one of those statues you often see on the outside of porches!
Then we went inside to view the artwork.
I have to tell you, the view is different from down here!

Canine Companions Fundraiser

SWMBO and I went to KC last night for the annual fundraiser at the Rice Gallery of Fine Art in Leawood, Kansas. It was sponsored by Advanced Financial Solutions and we had a GREAT time!

I got to see all my fellow CCI buds, show off to a bunch of people and help raffle off some items.

Here's a pic of the women that were instrumental in putting on the shing ding.

Here's me selling the goods!

Uhh, someone was playing a little too much. Yeah, so I egged Kindy on......

Here's one of me with Service Dog Fancy and best buddy Mike.

and then Fancy had to show off some mad skilzs!!

Mike and Fancy always steal the show. Can't say thanks enough for joining us last night.

Thanks to the event organizers and all the folks that stopped by, we all had a great time!
