Muttfest...

Seems like SWMBO was invited to present at something called 'Muttfest.' Whatever. All I know is that Muttfest is an absolutely glorious orchestra of smells, sounds, and visual input! The big bonus was that I got to share this dazzling, heavenly, sublime experience with my buds Lassiter, Clark, Feldon, and Orella. Thanks for coming all the way "out west," guys and gals!

I didn't get to stay the whole time, though, because SWMBO and TBG didn't want me to become something they called 'overstimulated.' As if! I did just fine, thank you! Anyway, some pictures are below. Not many, mind you, because as the second pup, just like the second child, the camera doesn't come out quite as often as it did with a certain "A" pup...I'm just sayin'!

Born to Run

Heeellllooooo adoring fans! Life is so wonderful, you know it? There's so much to do, so much to learn, so much to try, so much to run around....

I was introduced to something called "agility" today. SWMBO said I had way too much energy and that even a good long walk wasn't likely to tire me out, so she dug around in the garage for a while and made a couple of trips out to the round pen. She thought today would be just an introduction, but I said, Introduction-shmuckin! It didn't take me long to figure out that agility thing. I was a natural, if I do say so myself. (TBG says it isn't bragging if you can back it up).

So, to show you that I CAN back up my big mouth, I've posted a video below of my first time doing agility. See what you think. But, please be kind to SWMBO and don't say anything about her goofy attire. She loses any fashion sense she may have when she dons her Carharts, camouflage neck scarf, and....whatever that is on top of her head.

GoGetIt!

You can get hungry after doing agility! (Look CLOSELY at this pic...)

Just Call Me...Adventure Man!

I have had what you might call---a full weekend. I could create some eclectic prose and wax poetic and all that, but I think I'll just post some pics and let them tell the story.

Here's my first trip in public...to the friendly, down-home grocery store.

I am so cute!

A shout-out to Jeb's old pal, Kodiak!

I was fascinated by the 'beeps'!

SWMBO and I went on a hike to Mt. Everest, er, I mean Mount Mitchell....

We're going where?

View from the top!

Can't a guy get some privacy around here?

We went to PetCo too, but I don't know why SWMBO stopped by the girlie stuff!

Goodbye...Lassiter....Goodbye!

"How lucky I am to have known someone who was so hard to say goodbye to."

Well, I don't know what the heck is going on, exactly. All I know is that SWMBO has been C-R-A-N-K-Y and M-O-O-D-Y and, well, you get the picture.

It all started when we took the journey to KC last Thursday for the Chapter meeting. I thought we were having a grand time! I got to see all my buds, Feldon and Clark and Orella and Lassiter, and even Vance's person, who dropped by, a delightful surprise!

My buds!

But it all fell apart, because it was Lassiter's "good-bye" party and I guess SWMBO just really got tuned in to the reality of that. She was a mess! And embarrassing! Mooning all over Lassiter and having him do laps and calling him her "favorite" dog. Like, what am I? Chopped liver? (Did you ever wonder why humans say that? I think it would be wonderful to be a big bowl full of chopped liver. But I digress....)

You might know that Lassiter spent a few weeks here back in the summer with Ansel. Reading that blog, it sure sounds like those two had some wild adventures! And during that time, Lassiter just wormed his way right into SWMBO's heart. Well, all I can say is that SWMBO has been S-A-D thinking about the fact that Lassiter is moving on. Geez, these humans are slow. You think they would understand what this assistance-dog-thing is all about after 13 years!

I guess you get special treats at goodbye parties!

See what I mean?

If TBG and I are going to make it through the next few days, I think we need a secret plan. And that plan is: left-over baklava! HA! That will make SWMBO feel better!

These two are funny, no doubt about it...a whole barrel of monkeys, they are!

I blindsided TBG again!

Man, this is sooo much fun mess'n with TBG. I've had him convinced I'm still too little to jump into the blue bomb, so he always picks me up or he uses a custom made step when in the garage.

We got to go see Mona this afternoon (she's my personal physician), so TBG went out and prepped the car with my gear. Opened up the crate gate and moved my step stool over. He calls me over, I politely sit behind the step and wait for the "car" command. Once it's uttered, I zip around the step and jump right into the car, turn around and do a perfect sit. You should have seen the old guys face...PRICELESS!

Problem with that, is now he expects me to get in the car myself...every time. When Deb got home, he had to show her my new accomplishment. So I guess my carefree days of arm slumbers are coming to an end. I guess it had to happen some day.

Sorry, no pics of the blessed event, so I pulled an old pic that has no relevance at all!

Have You Seen It?

What a great video from CCI! It inspired TBG and me to say "thank you" to all of our blog readers!

Who Knew About Invisible Bee Wings and Other Nonsensical Musings

For those of you in the know (and if you are not in the know, trust me, this is a good thing)...there has been no sign of a bee wing and TBG is convinced that this is another of SWMBO's toilet-screw-cover hallucinations (you MUST ask to hear that story if you have not; TBG and SWMBO are like Lewis and Martin recounting that little tale).

But who knew, too, about an absolutely magical event called "puppy class?" School R-O-C-K-S! I loved every minute of it, wasn't in the least hesitant or fearful or anxious (well, maybe a little when those big-breed pups came rocketing toward me, but you would be too if a Rhodesian Ridgeback, Great Dane, and Newfoundland all wanted to sniff you AT THE SAME TIME!)

Yes, I was SOOOO anxious at class!

Hey, you are more my size.

Hey, you guys are NOT!

You are REALLY NOT!

Uh, hi?

Now, this is exactly right.

Spontaneity...

...the dictionary says the definition is "voluntary or undetermined action or movement." I say the definition is friends who say, "Heck, yea, come on over!" Yesterday TBG got a bee in his bonnet (hahahaha) and decided to work on the silverbluestang. SWMBO and I said "Y-U-C-K" and so I had SWMBO call my good friend Feldon to see what his plans were for the day. SWMBO decided that it was probably time I met Brie (an OFOJ--Original Friend of Jeb) and his posse. So, we packed up the blue bomb and headed to Topeka to see Brie.

Hello, here I am!

Hello OFOJ...

What a great toy! A yellow beehive to share with Winslow! Wonder how it tastes...

The Yellow Collection...Reprised!

Then it was off to KC to see my bud Feldon! We had a grand rumpus, but found time for lots of love too.

I've got you, no, I've got YOU!

Love is all you need...

What do you mean, you don't like my toupee?

BTW, bee wings don't taste too good. Still haven't seen the "other end" of one though...

Guess which one is which!

Ansel or Carver??

Who's who??

Ok, ok....Ansel is at the top and Carver is below doing his "impression" of Ansel!

The boy has spunk!

I left the room this morning to make some coffee and when I returned, Carver was doing some light reading.

He was also reading HIS monthly reports.

He decided that one of the more advanced commands was well within his grasp and decided to demonstrate for us!

*We really aren't teaching this yet. He just started doing a lap and thought we'd just use what's given*

Happy New Year!

First, I have to send big birthday wishes to my "OLD" buddy and fellow CCI pup, Ansel. He turns 2 today! I sure hope the North Central staff gives him some good cookies.

Yesterday we took a trip into town. Got to visit the walk-up window at the bank, check out the main drag and then spent some time at the playground. I sure love the slides!

Today, Deb and I went for a hike at the lake. I didn't get to play in the water, but we did have fun! Right off we came upon a big fish skeleton. Deb says it was a catfish.

I got to work on my jumps, sits and look'n good for the camera!

Here's a nice wooded bridge we had to cross.

Here's a video of me on the slide.

Hope everyone has a great 2012!
