Deb and I went to the Council Grove Healthcare Center this morning to see some of my friends. It was hard work and I really had to concentrate on my good behavior.
This is a tough job, but somebody's got to do it!
After the nursing home visit, we headed back into town and did some walking. A few "downs" and "unders" here and there. It was good exercise for me. We finished up at Subway and got TBG some lunch. Napping in the recliner while Deb and I work, makes TBG hungry ;^)
Looking forward to Monday, maybe I'll get some rest!
Follow me as I progressed from a Puppy to a CCI Service Dog!

The hits keep coming!
Wow! I've had a couple of really exciting days.
Yesterday, we spent the day with my CCI buds at Cabela's! The people, the animals, the smells...it was sensory overload.
We hung out at the front of the store and spread the word about CCI. Afterwards we spread out and did some exploring.
Here's a pic that shows the expanse of Cabela's
Me and wild animals!
Here's Feldon checking out the Elephants...Look out Buddy!
I decided to do a little inside camping.
Who has the fix'ns for S'mores?
I'm wondering, does Fish really "taste" like Fish???
Somebody's get'n TIRED.
and got put into a "time out"...how embarrassing!
On our way out, we got to meet the newest addition to the Kansas City group. Meet Little Debbie or as us pups call her, "LD". I can't believe I got to see another gorgeous Golden Retriever! LD is quite the looker ;^)
Time to head out on another adventure, this is turning into puppy boot camp around here.

I hit the Jackpot!
Yesterday was quite a day. The anticipation all week was almost too much to bear, but it was all worth it!
TBG and I went into (insert shameless family plug)
Body First Tennis and Fitness Center
3615 Claflin Road
Manhattan, Kansas 66503
(785) 776-6060
and met up with Deb AND new KSDS puppy, Clara. What a CUTIE. She's a full Golden and let me tell you, the cutest pup ever! TBG Jr. and his better half let us play inside the Tennis Club. First we got to play with the Big Dog of all balls.
Then Clara and I got to run around and play!
Here's a pic of TBG Jr's better half with Clara...Enzo will be soooo jealous!
and then, just before we were about to leave, the most fabulous thing ever (for a guy). The entire K-State Women's Tennis Team came off the courts and came to see...ME!!! Imagine being surrounded by college athletes! I did my best to be accommodating and let all that wanted to pet, scratch, rub and I even let them work me on my commands. It was a lot of fun and was great meeting real athletes!
Here's a pic of me, the coach and the team.
So, all in all, I had a great day! Thanks to the tennis club for allowing us to hang out and special thanks to Clara's human for stopping by.
I have another big day ahead of me today, so I better go for now. I'm going to meet up with my KC buds!!

One, Two. Three!
Ackkk!! Life is so busy; I haven't had time to post. However, I don't want you to think that means that I haven't been learning and doing and getting out and about to experience all that I need to in order to possibly be a real assistance dog one day!
ONE
Last Friday, SWMBO packed up the blue bomb and we headed for her workplace, K-State. That was really cool. I met a lot of nice people, did some reading, and watched college kids go by. No, I did--really! SWMBO took me outside during one of the class changes. We stood next to the doors of Justin Hall and watched everyone come and go. SWMBO was standing behind the camera giggling her fool head off. It is a good thing you can't hear her on the video because you wouldn't be able to stand to listen to her cackle. You still might not be able to watch the whole video unless you are REALLY a dedicated fan. I think it is kind of...well, boring, to be honest, but SWMBO thinks it is funny because my head, she says, is on a swivel. Whatever. We even had one student come up to us and ask if we needed help. SWMBO thinks it is because I was there, but I think it was because I was there and SWMBO was standing next to me with a video camera held just above my head and hee-hawing without apparent reason...you get the picture, right?
Here we are leaving...bye, TBG, bye! Thanks for the solid foundation of good manners!
A guy needs something to do until it's time for a class change!
Is it really time to go?
Who knew there were so many humans in the world?
TWO
Then, on Sunday, SWMBO packed up the blue bomb and we headed for one of her favorite places, the CG Healthcare Center. She said we were just going to pop in and do a quick walkabout. Uh-huh. We no sooner walked in the door then we were loved by a wee one with flashing tennis shoes, a smile that would melt your heart, and kisses that rivaled mine. I could barely keep my bottom on the floor (SWMBO's request) as she introduced me to what can only be exchanged by two creatures who understand unconditional love without the cynicism of being a grown-up human. Wish I had pictures to share--you will just have to use your imagination on that one. Right after the wee one, we met a seasoned human who understands the meaning of shared solitude. All she wanted was to sit quietly, enjoy my presence, and rub my head. I decided in no time that this was what I wanted too. SWMBO did snap a picture of that. However, SWMBO was also mumbling the whole time about Cesar Millan and matching energy levels and how she has never seen that concept displayed so dramatically...whatever. You all know SWMBO, so you all get my drama reference!
Shared solitude...
THREE
Can't tell you! It's a surprise! But it happens on Friday and I am so excited I could pee my pants (if I had any)...Chow! (Oh, I just slay myself...)

Play day with fellow CCI Facility Dog, Winslow
What a great day I had yesterday. My buddy Winslow, a Facility Dog came over for some off work play. We spent the morning retrieving tennis balls out in the cold Kansas grass (10 degrees), then took a lunch break and thent went back at it for one on one WWF type action!
Here are a few pics from yesterday.
Here are a couple where we compared ear sizes.
Here are a couple of Me and Winslow's human.
and here's one of Winslow stealing my chew toy!
Finally for your viewing pleasure, I present to you, CCI WWF!
Do not try this at home, we are....ummm, trained professionals!

Council Grove Outing
TBG and I headed into town yesterday to meet up with Deb after work. Seems they thought I needed some exercise (of the brain)!
I got to go to the lumberyard first. What a cool place, lots of new smells and some great people.
Deb....Guess where you're at Carver?
Hey, this floor is a lot different than what we have at home!
Hmmm, me thinks this is some tight quarters.
Now this lady KNOWS what dogs like!
Come on man, you know the transmission linkage takes a pan head bolt! I gotta tell the big guy everything.
Checkout time = more good scratch'n!
After the lumberyard, we went next door to the laundromat. When we walked inside, there was this loud noise. Who could have thought so much noise could come from such a small thing?
I got to work on my "Up" while the bird was singing to me!
We made our last pit stop at the grocery and I got to see all my peeps! I even got to "check out"
This last picture I took this morning. It's not always warm and toasty out here on the Prairie! Brrrrrrrrrrr.

Puppy Class
Had a fun time last night at puppy training class. It's always great hooking up with my Manhattan buds! We worked on the normal puppy commands (although I use different words than everyone else) and near the end of class they broke out the tunnels!!! I had a blast shooting through those tunnels. Especially when they dropped the ends so I couldn't see all the way through! They were similar to the tunnel I get to play in here at home.
I had TBG take a few pics.
Action shot!
Finally, Deb was testing me with food, Ace'd that test!!

Dean Koontz Called....
Sorry you haven't heard from me this past week, mes amies! But, J'ai été très occupé....oolala! Excusez-moi! What I mean to say is that I have been very busy this past week. You see, Dean Koontz called and invited me to accompany him on a quick trip to Paris. He heard about my amazingly cute ears and wanted to see them for himself...research for a new book he is putting together called the "The Ears of CCI."
Anyhow, I had to beg and beg SWMBO and TBG to let me go, but they finally said OK. I think SWMBO in particular was miffed that I was invited to go and not her (since she considers herself a bit of a writer you know) but I TOLD her that this wasn't about writing but about cute ears and that hers...well, let's just say I have matured enough that I kept THAT thought to myself.
So, I packed my bag and went to MCI where Dean's private jet awaited me. His valet was there to greet me, but I wasn't too impressed as he was sitting down on the job. He would NOT make a good assistance dog...I am just sayin'!
We had some great meals....at least that's what Dean said. I wasn't into all that fancy French food, so I brought my own kibble along!
The views from our hotel room were fantastic!
You get what I'm sayin'!
But, the Eiffel Tower was not quite what I thought it would be...
Uh, I guess that's what's happens in dreams...
