Two for Tuesday # 2

So today, TBG had to go to the shop for work related stuff. I talked him into letting me tag along.

I got to meet some of the shop guys, they thought I was a good look'n pup! Got to drive the forklift too.



TBG had me walking on pallets, around the dust collector and I got to watch them unload a semi of lumber.
After that I went to the office and met another one of TBG's work buddies. I intoduced myself very politely to Jim and then proceded to try and take over his job!



I even took a nap...just like Jim does.




Hey Matt, you ever need a temp while Jim is gone...I'm here for ya man!

Two for Tuesday # 1

I've been so busy, I haven't had time to post, so you get a double shot today!

Sunday, we went to Manhattan. Stopped at the new donut shop so TBG could get more of those maple bacon donuts. From there we went over to the Campus and walked around. I got to work on the see-through stairs, walked in piles of leaves, walked on raised walls and watched some squirrels. Here are a few pics at K-State.











Then we headed over to Staples, Best Buy and Petco. I thought I was in a fantasy world, but Deb brought me back to reality!



On the way out, I got to meet a beautiful Great Dane.



I was pretty tired after all that work, so we headed home for the day.

Turkey Day

Happy Thanksgiving to All

Thought I'd sign in and give everyone a shout before the Tryptophan kicks in later today. I woke up this morning and decided to freak out TBG and Deb by doing a perfect "under" at breakfast.







OK, so I really have no idea what that means, but it makes me look good huh!!

Aunt Marty Rules!!

I got a present from Aunt Marty today and let me tell ya, excited doesn't even come close to describing me!

I had mentioned at the meeting last Thursday that my Dragon had, well....seen better days and if she knew where I could send TBG for a new one. Well, to my surprise, a box showed up today with a new one. Not an exact replacement, but one more to my ever increasing size!!

As you can see, I was offered both to see which one was the preferred toys of "big dogs"



Obviously, it was NO contest. The new Dragon is way more impressive than that puny, worn out dragon.







Thanks sooo much Aunt Marty...Mission Accomplished. I give it 4 paws up...whoops, hard to stand doing that!



BTW, also included was a bag of Marty's Magical Peanut Butter Treats, it just doesn't get any better.

TBG says it's time to go hunt'n for turkey. I did a "point" right back at him...he was not laughing.

We had to go to Topeka today and I got to ride in the Big Truck! SWMBO said I needed to learn how to ride in the floorboard, but once I saw it, I begged for my Doodle Bed. Thankfully, my sad face won and I was able to ride in comfort.

We stopped at a huge store and TBG and I patrolled the front entrances looking for unsuspecting potential "petters" All I needed to do was give the passerby's my cute puppy face and BAM, they were all over me, petting my head, back and tummy.TBG and I had a lot of fun, met some new folks and practiced some commands with all the distractions. TBG said I did a good job!

I tried to show TBG the proper way to tie off the merchandise, but he mumbled something about decades of sperience, so I let him be. Once we got home I had him take a picture of me in front of his "masterpiece". Good thing he has a desk job theses days, that's all I'm say'n.

What a Fun Time!

Since it is winter time, SWMBO (She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed) and TBG (The Big Guy) have been having a hard time figuring out field trips for me so that I can get socialized as per CCI instructions. You see, I come with a manual and a DVD, and there's even a checklist of things that I should do. For instance, I am supposed to meet people wearing helmets, hats, sunglasses; people with umbrellas and punk hairdo's; skateboarders, cross country skiiers, surfers, swimmers, dancers, people in uniform, crossing guards, telephone workers, meter readers...no, I am not kidding!

So anyway, with no puppy classes to go to, and cold weather, and the fact that I'm still too young to go inside anywhere (CCI says I have to be at least 6 months old before I go IN places), it's been hard to come up with places to go. Thankfully, I have great friends who want me to be successful, and are willing to help me in any way they can!

I was invited to Digger's house for a play date. We had a lot of fun running around the yard and taking turns powerslamming each other on the kitchen floor. Digger is looking great!











Then we packed up and went on to see the rest of my CCI buds. Here I am playing with Feldon and Carlton.












While we were there, I managed to sweet-talk Aunt Marty into looking for another one of my bestest toys! This flying dragon was one of my first welcoming gifts when I arrived in Kansas, and it is my most favorite of my favorite toys! However, SWMBO says it is getting a bit--well--let's say loved--and I am afraid that means that it will soon "disappear" like some of my other toys. I'm excited to see if Aunt Marty can find another flying dragon for me!













As another way of keeping me occupied, SWMBO pulled out the dog puzzle. That was fun, too! It didn't take me long to figure it out, if I do say so myself!











Anyway, this is Carver, checking out til next time!

Went to the Vet's Office Today.

I needed my next to the last round of shots, so I had TBG and Deb take me to see my favorite Doc and fellow associates. I love going in to see everyone!

First up, I got to weigh in



Yes, that's 27.5 pounds of pure puppy love!

Then I went into the office room and Mona checked me over. I did great this time and didn't even flinch when she stuck me with a needle! TBG sure looks nervous though, I don't think he likes needles...what a chicken.



Finally, as Deb was checking out for me, I got to meet the house cat. I don't know what TBG was worried about, it was just another animal...no big deal.




When we were done at the vet office, we went into town to the grocery. I love that place! Even though I can't go inside yet, I always get to meet so many nice people. I got to play on hay bales too!


That's all for today. Next up, I hear we're going to the CCI Chapter meeting on Thursday. Hey Feldon and Digger, rest up buddies cause I'm coming, loaded for PLAY!

Carver learned a bad habit from Ansel

We took floppy ears into Manhattan today to hopefully get some puppy playtime at Petco. It didn't quite work out, so we made the best of the trip. We met some really nice folks from Salina who helped Carver with his social skills. He got to meet lots of people and had some dogs passing by. Did really well with all the distractions today.

This is where the Ansel influence kicked in. I turn my back for just a minute to answer a question and when I turn back, what do I see? That little puppy was checking out the Poodles.




We decided it was time to leave after that! Got home, did his beauty treatment and the next thing we see...He's crashed AGAIN! Poor guy's had a very busy weekend.

Had a GREAT play day!

TBG and Deb had a friend over and he brought his Lab to play with me! Belle and I hit it off as soon as she walked in the door. We had so much fun, playing inside and out in the back yard. I also got to meet one of Ansel's best friends and learned that he was also a great friend to Master Jeb!

TBG also worked me on commands since I was highly distracted by Belle. I think I did pretty good (TBG agreed!).

The amazing power of kibble!

This is the second time we've had the vacuum out around Carver. The first time he was a little leery, but not skittish. This time, he acts as if it's just another piece of furniture.

It's amazing what a little kibble will do when training!






Carver's getting a visitor later today. Ansel's buddy, Belle is coming over to play. I see a tired puppy in my future...Wahoooooo!

Carver's First Snowfall

We had a little snow and ice last night and Carver got to check it out for the first time. He was a little perplexed by the fluffy stuff, but soon realized it was edible! We played for a little while and then went out front and did some paw skating on the driveway.

Saturday Play Day

WOW, what a day I had yesterday. We headed out to Kansas City for a day of fun. Our first stop was to meet up with KSDS PIT; Vance. Even though it was pretty cold in the morning, we still managed to get some pictures taken.

Had a great time meeting you Vance AND your human! She said I was soft...I think I got her wanting a new puppy ;^)

We headed on over to Putnam's house and met up with my traveling buddy Digger. We had some alone time before the big dogs came out. Boy, did we have some good wrestling going on!






The big dogs arrived and then we ALL had a good time outside. We could just run and roll and run and wrestle and run..did I mention we got to RUN?






After we played for a couple hours, the humans thought we'd be ready for a group picture in our gear. Well, some were ready (big dogs) and some were not *cough* ME! I was distracted by a leaf passing by.

When we got home, I pretty much slept through all the football games and the rest of the night. Woke up this morning at the usual time (5:30am) and had breakfast. TBG kept mumbling something about time change and that he missed out on that extra hour.....tough luck buddy, no one told ME about the time change!
