Twas the Day of Christmas
Creative Musings by Carver
Twas the morning of Christmas, when all through the house
I was the only creature stirring, it was like my peeps were soused.
I whined and I yawned with the utmost care,
In hopes that I could soon out of my kennel tear.
TBG and SWMBO were nestled all snug in their bed,
While visions of the PFZ* danced in their heads.
And my bladder a-floating, so I gave a loud yap!
Had TBG and me out the door in no time flat.
When up in the house there arose such a clatter,
Me and TBG sprang up the ramp to see what was the matter.
To SWMBO's side I flew like a flash,
Licked her leg--I was so rash!
The eyes on the face of my dear VPR
Gave real lustre to her loud uttered, "NO!"
When, what to my sad puppy-eyes should appear,
But SWMBO and TBG calling me "dear."
With a big bag of presents, so squeaky and sick!
I knew in a moment I would have my pick.
For SWMBO and TBG, they are really tame
And living with them is like a big game.
Now thanks to Ansel! And our departed dear Jeb!
On to all the CCI friends and pups, oh what a web!
To the readers of this blog! To all who call!
Now my thanks are away! Thanks away! Thanks to all!

Pictures From Christmas
Delectable breads for my peeps!
Why is it that TBG is always shown with the food?
I think TBG and I ate too much...
HAHAHAHA. Now that's funny; I don't care who you are~
A new toy!
Can't wait to get the flying duck out to the lake this summer!
This one, "An Ode to Ansel," brought TBG and SWMBO to tears!
Merry Christmas to all!

Trip to the shop today
TBG and I went to the shop today so he could deliver some items for one of his jobs. While there I took the liberty to meet some people, check out some machinery and even got to ride around on a parts cart (sorry no pics of that).
I got to hang out in the office with my buddy Jim until he had to leave. I thought it was pretty rude to leave so soon after I got there, but he kept mumbling something about a date with his wife. Whatever, Jimbo...I got pretty thirsty after awhile and asked TBG to get me some water.

Digger is famous!
My CCI buddy, Digger, is famous! He was chosen to be with Grant Clisome of the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2012 "Pucks & Paws Calendar"
Anywho, congrats to Digger for going World Wide!
Seems that it's caused an uproar in KC. There's been a flurry of emails about the calendar today. I'm not sure why though.
Anywho, congrats to Digger for going World Wide!

Great Play Day with my Buddies!
What a day! I'm so exhausted, I can hardly type.
My buddies from KSDS, Vance and Spark came over today for some fun. We met up in Council Grove and walked around town. Vance and Spark got to go into the businesses while TBG and I hung out in front. It was a good opportunity for me to show TBG how much I've learned over these last weeks. Too bad my brain had a partial shutdown (I was excited to see my friends). I was flipping through my commands like a Rolodex. That did not impress TBG AT ALL!
Here we are at the Cottage House (pre-shutdown). The owners are such great people and are always happy to see us pups.
Thankfully, after a short power nap, my brain came back to full power and I was ready for the rest of the day.
We made it back home and then the fun began. Me, Vance and Spark got to play in the back yard for a LONG time. We went through 8 tennis balls. I did my best to keep up with the BIG dogs, but they were really FAST!!
I also spent some "people" time.
So did Spark!
What Grass???
Then, we had a contest for the biggest ears. I cried foul when TBG was going to enter...no ringers allowed in this contest!
Me at 6"
Vance at 5 1/2"
and Spark with the shortest ears - 4"
Spark and Vance had to say goodbye and head back home before dark. I was sorry to see my friends go, but I had a GREAT time playing today. You guys are welcome to my yard anytime!
Time for some real power napping.
Added video of some play time.

I Have Never Been So Tired In My Life!
SWMBO and TBG, as I have mentioned in previous posts, are really trying to find training opportunities for me. They say it's kinda hard because I can't go IN most places yet and they don't want to be OUT because it's so cold (wussies!). We had a play date arranged with my KSDS buds Vance and Spark for yesterday, but it was called off because of the rain (I mean tsunami) we had yesterday. Anyway!
SWMBO and TBG got up this morning and had a long discussion about the weather....the temperature, the wind, if it would be muddy or not...etc. Geez! Humans can do a lot of thinking for a little thing like a....WALK! They were just trying to decide if we should go for a hike or not. I could have given them that answer in like, 1 second. But, they didn't ask me!
After much deliberation, SWMBO and TBG finally decided that a hike WAS in my future. YIPPEE! But then I had to wait out the production...you know, SWMBO had to find her cuddleduds, and then the carhart outfits had to be donned, and then there was debate over what shoes would be best to wear. I just settled in for a nap until I heard the magic words: "Carver, let's go!" FINALLY!
We headed out to one of the trailheads. Now, SWMBO and Ansel had made this trek before, but it was all new to me and TBG. It was a Kansas safari! We saw coyotes, deer, quail, prairie chickens, geese, squirrels, and lots of tracks. We walked in the woods, we walked up a big hill, we walked on the prairie, and over an old bridge that you could see through. Poor TBG wouldn't go too far on that thing! But it was my longest walk ever, and I'm still exhausted now. I nap, get up and go out, move to a new location, nap, look endearingly at SWMBO in the hopes I'll get a treat, move to a new place, and nap some more...
Pictures of the big adventure are below!
Imagine living here!

Two for Tuesday # 2
So today, TBG had to go to the shop for work related stuff. I talked him into letting me tag along.
I got to meet some of the shop guys, they thought I was a good look'n pup! Got to drive the forklift too.
TBG had me walking on pallets, around the dust collector and I got to watch them unload a semi of lumber.
After that I went to the office and met another one of TBG's work buddies. I intoduced myself very politely to Jim and then proceded to try and take over his job!
I even took a nap...just like Jim does.
Hey Matt, you ever need a temp while Jim is gone...I'm here for ya man!

Two for Tuesday # 1
I've been so busy, I haven't had time to post, so you get a double shot today!
Sunday, we went to Manhattan. Stopped at the new donut shop so TBG could get more of those maple bacon donuts. From there we went over to the Campus and walked around. I got to work on the see-through stairs, walked in piles of leaves, walked on raised walls and watched some squirrels. Here are a few pics at K-State.
Then we headed over to Staples, Best Buy and Petco. I thought I was in a fantasy world, but Deb brought me back to reality!
On the way out, I got to meet a beautiful Great Dane.
I was pretty tired after all that work, so we headed home for the day.

Aunt Marty Rules!!
I got a present from Aunt Marty today and let me tell ya, excited doesn't even come close to describing me!
I had mentioned at the meeting last Thursday that my Dragon had, well....seen better days and if she knew where I could send TBG for a new one. Well, to my surprise, a box showed up today with a new one. Not an exact replacement, but one more to my ever increasing size!!
As you can see, I was offered both to see which one was the preferred toys of "big dogs"
Obviously, it was NO contest. The new Dragon is way more impressive than that puny, worn out dragon.
Thanks sooo much Aunt Marty...Mission Accomplished. I give it 4 paws up...whoops, hard to stand doing that!
BTW, also included was a bag of Marty's Magical Peanut Butter Treats, it just doesn't get any better.
TBG says it's time to go hunt'n for turkey. I did a "point" right back at him...he was not laughing.
